Dads Unlimited

Dads Unlimited

I’m delighted to announce my appointment as a trustee of Dads Unlimited, a leading UK charity dedicated to supporting the emotional safety of all men, fathers and non-fathers, straight and gay, through times of crisis.

Founded in 2017, the charity, which has achieved so much in a relatively short time, including the launch of the country’s first commissioned domestic abuse service for Men, DAVE, will be rebranding in April to recognise the breadth of the support we provide and our ambition to increase our reach and impact.

Focused on mental health, co-parenting, domestic abuse recovery and male suicide prevention, we provide holistic support to empower men, create stronger family bonds, reduce parental conflict post-separation, improve co-parenting relationships, enhance men’s mental and emotional health,  challenge societal barriers to meaningful fatherhood, redefine fatherhood for the 21st century and promote healthier futures.

Not only improving individual lives but also contributing to broader societal recognition of the importance of paternal involvement and male mental health, efforts which have positively impacted children, families, and communities.

Supporting the emotional safety of men and those they care about...

My appointment, and that of my fellow trustees comes at a pivotal moment for Dads Unlimited as we transition from a founder-led start-up to a mid-growth organisation, placing the organisation on a more sustainable footing and better positioning the charity to withstand the headwinds impacting all charities and to embrace the opportunities for future growth.

A process which in 2024 resulted in the strengthening of the Board and the appointment of a new CEO who has played a pivotal role in stabilising operations, fostering a healthier workplace culture, and establishing firmer financial foundations.

Thrilled to be joining the board. In meeting the challenges of soaring demand and an uncertain funding landscape, I hope that my expertise and knowledge having served extensively as a trustee and chair, and my professional practice as an executive search consultant to the charity sector will serve to strengthen the board’s strategic and generative facing roles, governance knowledge, and our ability to foster impactful partnerships.

Hugely impressed by Dads Unlimited’s commitment to their work and the quality of their unique and tailored services, including one-to-one mentoring, mental health counselling, and legal guidance, I very much look forward to contributing my experience and working closely with our truly inspiring team to ensure the charity continues to deliver life-changing support to men while upholding the highest standards of governance and sustainability.
