Ambition

London CLT is on a mission to support local communities to create permanently affordable homes and help transform their neighbourhoods and more broadly to innovate and influence the housing sector in London and beyond.

We are community and member led.  We believe that local people should lead as decision makers in housing developments.  We work with our members and local people to develop homes that stop Londoners being priced out of their neighbourhoods.  Any Londoner can become a member of London CLT. We have over 3,300 members.  Our campaigns are led by our members and both they and our residents have representation on our board.

Given the extent of London’s housing crisis, we have ambitious growth plans. These plans include building hundreds of new affordable homes across the city, accessing land through organising campaigns on behalf of local people and communities fighting for CLT homes in their neighbourhood, and to transform their neighbourhoods.

Organisation Profile

Decent, secure, and affordable homes are getting harder to come by, and there is widespread recognition and an acceptance that London needs more affordable homes.

What remains is a gulf between those who are attempting to deliver affordable housing and the communities that need these homes. This is the gap that London CLT successfully bridges, working with local communities to create truly affordable homes that are owned by local people, and which puts Londoners in charge of how their neighbourhoods develop.

Proud to be at the forefront of developments in this space, we were the first to develop and sell homes, starting with our flagship project at St Clement’s in Mile End.
